The Cais das Colunas is located in Terreiro do Paço, in the historic center of the city of Lisbon. It allowed the access to ferries or other vessels that made the path between Terreiro do Passo and the South Bank of the River Tagus.

In the past, this has been the noble entry of Lisbon, nowadays is a touristic meeting point, with musicians performing and small kiosks selling drinks. Today, this poetic place is affected by the passage of a very transited road transit passing it beside; the view on the river and on the other side is anyway still wonderful.
